I’m really excited about our new services and wanted to type something up with more info, as to not get too “word-y” on my website.
I’d heard about body contouring and was skeptical, does it actually work? I also kind of thought it seemed like “cheating”, if it could melt fat did that mean people could shrink their belly without actually exercising? No way.. right?
So I dove head first down the body contouring rabbit hole.
I did a ton of research and it started making more sense to me, how it worked, that it actually goes in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle (eating pretty healthy for the most part, meaning, we’re all human so most of us aren’t going to stick with just grilled chicken and salad everyday, but also, don’t indulge in added sugars, excess carbs or fried foods very often.. allow yourself to enjoy these on rare occasions).
And exercise (again, most of us aren’t able to spend 2 hours X 7 days a week at the gym, but we are able to go on a brisk walk, jog or small hike most days, while adding in something like core yoga, body weight Pilates or moderate weight lifting a couple times a week, and as great as the gym is, a lot can be accessed for free on YouTube, in your living room, or right outside your door!)
I wanted to find the right machine, I did not want to purchase the cheapest possible (you get what you pay for).
I wanted to first try it on myself and some family members to see if it worked, and if so, how well. It took me a long time to decide, I read a lottttt of reviews and just kept doing my research before finally taking a leap of faith and deciding on one. It was quite a tedious process to put it together and figure out how it worked. It was also very complicated and frustrating to try on myself. But, after several trial sessions on different areas of the body, we saw some amazing, real results (we have photos!) One family member lost inches in the abdomen and love handles, one noted decreased flab under the arms and therefore more visible muscle tone, one saw decrease in sagging skin and creases on the thighs.
It also helped that I understood the science behind it:
Radiofrequency stimulates collagen production via safe levels of electromagnetic waves and heat.
Ultrasonic cavitation was similar to what I learned in PT school about ultrasound, which I utilized on patients in PT clinics to decrease pain. But instead this uses sound vibration waves to penetrate to the subcutaneous fat cells to shrink them and empty their contents into the lymphatic system.
Vacuum therapy is a lot like a service I already offer: cupping. I do a lot of myofascial cupping, however this type is gentle, with suction and release, for skin tightening and lymph drainage.
We also use infrared & red light therapy which increase metabolism at the cellular level, detoxes, fights inflammation and improves over all skin health.
Some facilities currently offering body contouring separate these services out, we like to include all 4 in one session, tailoring time for each as needed for each individual (ex, more time with cavitation for more fat, more time with vacuum if more skin tightening is needed).
Body contouring is not for overall weight loss, nor is it for the morbidly obese.
When talking about body contouring with friends and family, an overwhelming amount of people are interested, even those who are seemingly in great shape (have you ever noticed even slender folks who are in good shape still have cellulite in some areas, especially the thighs? This is actually due to unorganized fascia, which we can help with!)
Although it is mostly women who seek body contouring (we have a lot of things working against us sometimes; hormonal imbalance, genetics, thyroid dysfunction, to name a few), men can of course enjoy benefits as well!
My mom is my assistant, she is a nurse who also got certified in body contouring. She will be offering just body contouring. ($150 per session, except arms which is $125)
I will offer add on options (lymph drainage, facial massage / reflexology, craniosacral etc) as well. ($25 for 15 min)
The infrared Sauna is a great add on before a contouring session, again to aid in detox, increase metabolism, etc. (cannot be used right after contouring session)
I also got certified in lymphatic drainage, which pairs nicely with body contouring, making it much more effective. It also is a great stand alone service, mostly for general inflammation, edema due to an injury (sprained ankle for example), and some surgeries. I myself have noticed some great health benefits from receiving regular lymph drainage.
I stand behind all of the services I offer, I have put forth a lot of effort and investment (both time and financial) into all of this and I take pride in providing excellent care to my clients.
If you read this far, kudos, I know that was long, and I appreciate you.. reach out with any questions!
